Malcolm Waite Limited is an independent family owned and operated motor trade business which has been established in Sandwich and Deal, Kent since 1976. Due to imminent retirement we will shortly have a vacancy for a Cashier/Purchase Ledger Clerk/General Administrator.
The basic day to day routine of the position entails cash handling from our busy petrol forecourt and forecourt shop and our service and parts departments, agreeing the cash and balancing with the various controls in place for this purpose. This is all dealt with manually therefore an accurate and logical mind is necessary to deal with all the relevant analysis.
The position also includes the control of our computerised purchase ledger, from inputting the invoices to the final preparation and payment of accounts on a monthly basis. Although our computer system is specialised for the motor trade, training will be given.
We would expect you to gradually expand your duties to include the sales ledger, credit control and other accounts related processes.
This is a basic description of the job and is by no means a complete detailed description of the duties to be undertaken by a member of the accounts department. As we are a small accounts and administration team we require flexibility within the whole department in order that all prioritised tasks can be completed efficiently. The successful candidate must therefore be willing to interact with and learn various aspects of Sales Administration and Reception roles in order to cover as required.
